After two years of growth as a fashion retail business, SVRN aimed to define their brand language and appeal to new customers through architecture.

During my time as Creative Director at SVRN, I developed my first full architectural design project in tandem with the incredible South Korean firm, WGNB. The founders of SVRN were interested in taking their original store concept to new heights market by cementing themselves at the paragon of luxury retail experiences. After vetting nearly a dozen architects from around the world, we embarked on nine months of design development between teams in Chicago, Antwerp and Seoul to conjure a haven of monolithic forms. Informed by ‘the endurance of nature’ as our guiding mantra, the 4200 sqft space was remodeled to tell a story of perseverance. The palette of natural, worn materials such as volcanic stone, oxidized steel and charred 'shou sugi ban' wood express a sense of permanence while the balance of negative space evokes harmony throughout.
